more misc blah stuff

So everyone thinks because you live in Marin you must be rich. Some people are; I have to work to pay my bills. It's all a matter of priorities. In order to have the house we have, we just reprioritize where you spend your money. Our cars are functional and in good shape but certainly not lexus caliber. One of our weekend chores is yard work - I know a lot of people here have gardeners but we do everything ourselves. One of my responsibilities is also to wash the cars every week (we like things to look nice). The idea of paying $15 for someone to wash my car (plus the time to go the car wash, wait in line and drive back) is anathema to me.

As for politics. I am a paleo con. Not toom many of us in marin.

Thats it for now. i'm doing this from the seat of my dentists office

Getting started in the blogging biz...

Never done a blog before. A little background. Born and raised in Sonoma County, married with two boys (a 9 year old and a 6 month old). My wife (hardest working person I ever met) is a stay-at-home mom. Unlike a lot of folks, this is our first (and only) marriage!

We live in south/central Marin. It's a beautiful area, with a great school and tons of outdoor activities. One of my favorite weekend activities is going on a bike ride with my big boy down to the park and playing "buds up" at the school. It's just a 7 minute bike ride to play for an hour or so, but hopefully it's the kind of thing he'll remember as he gets older - when I grew up our dad never did that kind of thing with us.

We mostly stick to ourselves and don't do the social things. Almost every weekend we do things with my wife's family - we are extremely close on her side of the family. Everybody helps everybody.

More to come... need to get to the gym while everybody's still asleep.
